The Ohio Welsh are trying to move into new places. As of today we now have a Face Book and will be trying to keep you current with what is going on in the club and with  its members.

Membership

This is the day to give thanks to the Lord.  The Dec meeting is Dec.1st at 2:00 at the grain bin. Remember that 2014 dues are to be paid by Jan of 2014 or you will no longer enjoy some of the benefits that you had with your 2013 membership. Come to the meeting or send them to Carolyn Owens. We are now talking bout the All breeds Carriage Driving Event for 2014.This Year there will be several  show that will count for our point system and the club is looking forward to get a horse related trip this year if possible. Have a great winter and get those ponies out, even if it is only for a walk in the woods.      ********** Hope everyone enjoys the Holidays **********

All Breeds Carriage Driving Event

The ohio welsh club would like to thank all the people that show up at show this past week.We hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend . The past week has been trying at times, but we had good weather for our show.  We had some new people that came to the show for the 1st time and some that came to help others.The pinic was a sucess and the band that John got was great. As you know that we are working on the 2014 show and trying to keep this running. This seems to be the kind of show that people want in this area. But to keep this going our magic no. needs to be around 60 -70. I know that the people that are showing every year are out there promoting the show. We just can,t figure out why anybody that is local is not here.

All Breeds Carriage Driving Event

Ck out the ohiowelsh.com site for the show bill.  the biggest change for 2013 is that we are having 2 cross country class and they are both different. and they are FREE to anyone that show up,enters the class.  What a deal.  There will also be a pinic Sat evening. All invited to come.This is something that has just came up and is new, So pass the word around. We would like to see everyone that has an animal to drive that might be a little shy in the ring , at least show up for this.

May meeting

May meeting will be held at Lake Farm park, Chardon ,Ohio on Sat. 6;00 p.m.  Hope you can make it to the meeting , also will have a drive later in the evening. If you have some spare time Sat. or Sun. come up and work the booth to promote the Welsh pony breed.

Chartered bus tour

 ERROR---ERROR---ERROR    The cost for the bus tour to the Threasher mueum is  30.00 per person That includes you ticket in bus ride there and back and tip to the driver . Sorry for the mistake,

Chartered bus trip

As you can see owpa has chartered a bus to Frostburg, Maryland on April 13th 2013. This bus is going to take us from Alliance,Ohio to the Trasher Museum, where at that time we will be given a guided tour tour through the building that houses some 55 carriages of the collection of many there. the cost is 60.00 that includes your ride, pass to the museum, and the tip to the driver. We have a limit of 55 seats, so as Paul Hurd recieves you ck. he will put you on the list. Don't be left out. Think spring

I know as of this moment most of us are saying. How long to spring.But as we all know that the fact is we are a lot better off in the good months if we have had to go through a little bit of suffering , of what we call cold weather and frozen ground for a period of time to kill off  bugs ,germs, and also the cold and rain help settle are pastures back to the new grouth. The good thing about this time of year is is to look back on last year , to figure what we did and what we would like to do this coming year. Now to the point I would like you to dwell on. The All Breeds Carriage Driving Evevt (For Good Horses In June.)  What a title  Goes along with what a show. If you have been here before you know this is a fun weekend and still fits in your budget.We have added a couple new ideas to change up the event and to extend the amount of fun you can have.If for some reason you have not made it to this event, This is your year to put your horse and yourself first. January posting

Jan. 4th I was notified that a life long member of the Ohio Welsh had  pasted away. Marge Noble passed away this past week. Marge has been involved with the Ohio club, Mahoning Valley Pony Breeders, and has been very active in Canfield Fairgrounds and also ohio state equine in Columbus .Marge will be missed, but at the same time will be remembered by all that have meet up with her in the pony world.We give all our blessings to the Noble family. Thank you Marge for all that you have done for the Ohio Welsh Pony Association and its members.

2013

As you can see the year for election results is wrong.  The club is laying out a new calander for 2013 of things to do each month. So if you have some interesting things to do, contact Lanson and let him know. Don't forget to vote today, it is very inportant to voice you opinion, regardless of the out come . We also hope that any members that have not been to some of the latest meetings will show up to the next ones.Don't be idle in your club, each person is vital and makes the club more interesting. After all, we are not all the same and we all have good views of what we would like to see the club do.   Speaking of do ,---It is that time of year to get your DUES in for your membership.

As oct. comes to an end, we would like to thank every one who has helped in the planning of 2012.Next month Nov. 4th is the next meeting, it is also the election month.We are also looking for things to do in the year 2013, bring ideas, if each person brings 1 our calander will be fill with lots of things to do.

Aug. Shows

The 2 Ohio Welsh Show that are held in Canfield, Ohio have been cancelled for the 2012 year. We would like to thank everyone that has been to our shows in the past years. Good luck to all the people that are showing in 2012.

Meeting Dates

The new meeting dates are listed. Also we have 6 shows lined up for this year Bridle buddies May. 6th  M.V.P.B.A. May.12  Ravenna show July 20,21,22, Ohio 2 showsAug10, 11, 12.Pioneer show T.B.A. these are all point shows. Then there is also the All Breeds Carriage Driving Event  for a fun show. We are also looking for members that would like to go to Lake Farm Park on the19th of May.

2012 Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody out ther in the pony world. Well we made it another year. As you can see we are in the new year of 2012, and the first meeting of the year is this next week, Jan.8th at 2:00 pm. This is the time of year that the club is going over old projects and planning for new things that we can get started in.So try to make your new thing to do in 2012 to attend meetings and be active in the club and become better acquainted with your fellow club members. Remeber to keep them ponies watered and to keep that coat well groomed to keep your pony in tip top shape for the cold weather that is coming.  Bring your ideas, see you Sunday.

Web Site

In the month of Dec. and Jan. the web site will be changed over to the 2012 year.Untill then the following will take place.Meeting Dates will be Jan. 8th--Feb.5th--March 4th--April 1st.  All metings are on Sunday at 2:00, and are at the grain bin at Jeff Grossenbacher's . There will not be a meal at the meeting, Club members may choose to go out after the meeting to a local restaurant. Remember your 2012 dues are due.

Show meeting & Dec. Meeting

There will be a meeting on Nov. 13 th.at 2:00 for the show commitee to go over show plans. this will be held in the grain bin. At the Dec. meeting,there will be a motion to reside a motion made on a show date made at the Oct. meeting. All those that voted for that are being notified that afer the motion was made that several club workers may not be in town at that time , and that another date may work out better for the show.For this reason it would be better left to the show commitee to set the dates. New officers were voted in as follow:  Pres-- Lanson Stern    Vice Pres:--Rich Jagers  Sec.--Shelly Jagers  Treas.-- Jeff Grossenbacher  Directors 1yr. --Pat Richardson  3yr. Nov. meeting and Banquet

Just a reminder to all that come to the monthly meetings . The date is Sun. Nov. 6th. at 2:00  The winter meetings will be held on Sun. at 2:00 to make it more lighter to see our way home.The banquet turn out to be a nice evening . The High Point Pony went to Lanson and Joyce Stern,        High Point exhibitor went to Lanson Stern  and       High Point Youth went to Hannah Forman  Congratution to All

Ohio Welsh Show

Sun. Oct. 16th there will be a meeting about the Ohio show at 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in the show or can be there to work at the show , this would be a good time to be there. The meeting will be at the Grossenbachers in the meeting room.

October Meeting

The Oct. meeting will be held on the 1st. At this meeting the main topic will be what direction the club would like to go with the Ohio shows in Aug. We would like for as many members  to be present as possible, so that we get many views. If you are an exhibitor at our Aug shows and have some topics you would like the club to look at , call Jeff at 330-947-2920 and he will present them to the club.As we all know that things in the show world are not the best due to the economy, keep in mind that it  is still the best interest of the club to put on a show that the exhibitors need.
